Mercy’s Story: An Orphan Who Became an Oncologist

When Mercy was a little girl, her mother didn’t receive proper medical care during childbirth and died. The loss grieved Mercy, who determined that she would become a doctor to save others from her mother’s fate. However, because she was living with her elderly grandparents in dire poverty, her budding dream seemed like a long…

A distant trip straight to my heart

I have always had a tender spot for children in need. I’m one to cry at commercials of children in hospitals or when I hear of a child taken away from his parents due to tragedy or unfortunate events. Sometimes I wrestle with the injustice of it all.  I frequently hope and pray for a…

Linda And Blessing

Linda met Blessing several years ago on a short-term mission trip to MCF. Our team of ladies was performing the play about the little lost lamb. During the play I noticed one small girl in the back row who was crying and looked terrified. At the end of the play, I thought about this little…

Our Work Improve Mully’s Financial Sustainability We are excited to share an opportunity to continue raising the level of income-producing activities designed to support Mully Children’s Family. We’ve made diversifying the sustainability base one of the top priorities for this year and beyond. To diversify the sustainable revenue base at MCF, we are building a commercial poultry farm. Mully’s Poultry Farm Mully Children’s Family plans to construct four barns, each housing 40,000 chickens. The capital cost of setting up each barn is $325,000. Each barn is estimated to produce a net profit after expenses of $140,000 each year. The first barn has been funded and construciton is underway. The implementation of this project will go a long way toward the rescue and transformation of thousands of lives that depend on God’s provision through MCF. Join Us Help us create a stable long-term future for Mully Children’s Family by increasing our level of financial sustainability. Your donation will provide food and job training for the children in our care, employment opportunities for our community members, and income to support our efforts to save children’s lives.

Our Work New Dormitory Needed for the Young Girls of Kenya The situation facing the girl-child in Kenya is increasingly dire, with a staggering number of orphaned and vulnerable girls seeking refuge and protection at MCF project locations. Currently, our existing dormitory facilities are stretched to their limits, unable to adequately accommodate the growing number of girls seeking shelter and support. This overcrowding not only compromises their safety and well-being but also impedes their access to the quality education and rehabilitation services that are essential for their growth and development. We come to you with a critical need that demands urgent attention: the construction of a new dormitory for our girls at MCF Ndalani. As our family continues to grow, so too does the need for safe and secure housing for the vulnerable young girls under our care. The Dormitory Project The new dormitory project aims to address this pressing need by providing spacious, high-quality accommodation for up to 100 girls at MCF Ndalani. The dormitory will serve as a haven for orphaned and vulnerable girls, including child-mothers, who are undergoing rehabilitation and pursuing their education at various levels within the MCF community. MCF remains steadfast in our commitment to providing essential services to the children under our care. We have implemented stringent health protocols to safeguard the well-being of our children and staff while simultaneously working to resume construction activities and expedite the completion of the dormitory project. How can you help the young women of MCF? You can help make this a reality…

Our Work MCF is in a crisis! Earlier this year, we asked you to pray for the rains so that we might have an acceptable harvest, but MCF received only a few days of rainfall which temporarily quenched the crops. The river runningthrough the Ndalani Campus is dry once again. We have begun trucking water from Yatta for drinking at MCF Ndalani, but we are unable to plant crops because of inadequate water for irrigation. Over the past several months, Esther and I have spent considerable time in prayer about the desperation that we are seeing in the eyes of men, women, and children in our neighboring villages andcommunities. Our hearts are broken as we learn of the growing number of families who are going to sleep hungry. Women and children are now coming to our properties asking for food and support because of the ongoing drought and scarcity of food. Our neighboring communities are crying out for help! MCF can not ignore what is taking place around us and feel we must take immediate steps to support the children and families in need. Indeed, for the last 30 years our ministry has included disaster relief for the desperate as we live out God’s commandment to Love your Neighbor. We are asking for your support.   Mark 12:30-31 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.  The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment…

Our Work Rescuing Mothers The Malindi Women’s Center (formerly in Yatta) is a residential facility dedicated to the rescue of young mothers and their babies from a life of abuse and abandonment. Many of the young women have been victims of sex trafficking, rape, or even incest. Their stories are both horrific and heartbreaking. Because of the negative circumstances surrounding their pregnancies, many of the girls must learn how to even love their own babies. About the Malindi Women’s Center Our Malindi Women’s Center can hold up to 200 young moms and their babies. These young girls are rescued from across Kenya. Mully Children’s Family provides a safe living environment as well as physiological and spiritual support. But the help does not stop there. MCF also provides a two-year vocational training program to equip these young mothers to care for themselves and for their children upon completion of their training. The training focuses on tailoring, cosmetology, weaving, and cooking. While the mothers are in training classes, MCF offers childcare for their babies and healthcare when they get sick. Join Us MCF can accomplish the transformation of these young women for as little as $120 per month for a mom and her baby. Please join us in prayer for the transformation and healing of these young moms and, to the extent possible, make an investment in their future.
