Food Distribution in Community Schools

The effects of the calamities of 2020 in Kenya are still being felt across the country. Many people lost their jobs due to covid-19, as organizations and companies closed down. Secondly, we had a devastating drought, thirdly the rains fell in Kenya and caused havoc of floods countrywide. Currently, as a country, we are faced with destructive desert locusts that have invaded several parts.

Numerous children have not been able to go back to school despite the schools opening in January 2020 due to a lack of food. As MCF, we have stepped in to supply food to several secondary and primary schools to ensure that they cook lunch for the children. For many children, this is the only meal they have in a day.

The Ministry of Education in the Yatta sub-county reported that the school enrollment has gone up, and absenteeism in schools has reduced from 58% to less than 7% in the schools we supply food. Glory to God!

Thank you for your continued support in the community schools feeding programs. Our prayer is that MCF will supply food to as many schools as possible to keep the children in schools.

Matthew 25:37-40 (NIV)

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
