MCF VIPINGO

Prayer Request

Kindly pray that the rescued children will receive Jesus as the Lord of their lives and positively impact their community. God, who is our source and provider for the children and the community at MCF Vipingo, is the foundation and author of our hope and faith.

Background

Mully Children’s Family Vipingo campus is in a slum in Vipingo village, Kilifi County, Kenya, close to Mombasa City. Kenya’s coastal region is predominantly Muslim, with traditionalists and a few Christians present. A total of 270 children are enrolled in our school and are offered a comprehensive curriculum that includes kindergarten, primary, and junior secondary education. The overall strategy emphasizes holistic care, including education, food provision, medical care, spiritual nourishment, and psychosocial and other support services to empower vulnerable children and their families to become self-reliant and live with dignity.

MCF-supported children from the Vipingo slum reside with their families in the community and come to MCF for the services mentioned above during the day. We ensure that the children have access to meals while receiving care and education by providing meals on campus during the day and providing food assistance to the children’s impoverished families.

The children in the surrounding area are vulnerable to early child marriages, child prostitution, and all forms of child abuse, regardless of gender. Alcohol and substance abuse is also prevalent in Vipingo.

The widespread practice of witchcraft has caused the community to live in abject poverty. Being a Christian organization, we rescue children regardless of their religious affiliations or beliefs and point them to the saving power of our Lord Jesus Christ. Since there is a great deal of demonic influence in the neighborhood and among the rescued children, please pray for the campus co-workers to remain strong in Christ as they minister to the children and the community.

Acts 10:38 (AMPC)

How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the [Holy] Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how He went about doing good and, in particular, curing all who were harassed and oppressed by [the power of] the devil, for God was with Him.

Matthew 10:7-8 (KJV)

And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. [8] Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
