NEW FAMILY MEMBERS
Prayer Request
As we continue to champion for safe havens for children in Kenya and the world over, we request you to pray for the newly rescued children for: God’s healing to the sick, comfort to the heartbroken, counsel to the depressed, salvation for their lives, the transformation of the lives, and for each rescued child to know the purpose of God upon their lives. Let us also pray for God to provide for all the increasing financial needs to cater for the dear children and youths under our care and protection.
Background
The vision and purpose of MCF have always been inclined toward Saving Children’s Lives from poverty and its resulting effects in society and, therein, transforming them by giving them hope and an expected future.
Since 2020, MCF has almost doubled in growth and development. We have experienced an exponential increase in the number of children admitted to all our campuses. A study by the World Health Organization on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis on children shows that an estimated 10 per cent more children have been forced into poverty. Secondly, mental health helplines have seen demand surge by as much as 7,000 per cent. Thirdly, 2.8 per cent of the world’s children remain out of school, and children globally have reported a rise in both domestic and online abuse. This study, in a nutshell, explains the circumstances and precarious situations we at MCF have found ourselves in on all our campuses.
The number of abandoned and abused children at our campuses is on the increase. Many children come when they are critically sick, seeking medical help, while others are a whisker away from death due to starvation.
This upsurge in the number of needy children we have rescued has occasioned an increase in our expenditures from food, education, clothing, medical care, coworkers’ wages, infrastructure and many other expenses.
Matthew 25:40 (NIV)
The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.
Philippians 1:6 (AMPC)
And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.
