PEACEFUL ELECTIONS AND TRANSITION
Prayer Request
Please pray for the new Kenyan president that the Lord will use him to lead the nation of Kenya in justice and transparency and that in his tenure, the Kenyan economy will thrive, and the church will grow.
Background
On 9th Tuesday, August 2022, Kenyans held their general elections. The results of the elections were contested, and the petitioners took their plea to the Supreme Court of Kenya, challenging the results of the elections. It was a very tense moment in the country, and we prayed for peace to prevail. On 26th September 2022, the Supreme Court ruled on the election petition in favor of the elected presidential candidate. On 13th September 2022, Dr William Ruto was peacefully sworn in as Kenya’s fifth president.
President Ruto has openly declared that he is a born-again Christian committed to changing the country’s image and economy through transparency and hard work.
Thank you for your prayers when we face much uncertainty during the election; indeed, our God has been faithful in keeping Kenya peaceful.
