Set On Fire
Junior and his brother Paul were rescued to MCF on 14th August 2019. Their mother was a young street girl who was a drug addict and an alcoholic. On that fateful night a man she had been living with for a few days found the young woman totally blacked out due to an over dose of drugs. The man came in late at night and lit them on fire. Junior remembers his mum already being on fire and both he and the little brother were on fire. He recalls seeing the man still torching the mother and placing the same on them. The boys cry for help woke up the neighbours who rushed to their rescue. By the time the strange man had run away. Their mother succumbed to burn injuries and smoke inhalation.
The boys were then rushed to hospital and treated for TBSA burns and inhalation injuries. Since they did not have a home to go back to, and there was no known relative of their deceased mother, they stayed in hospital for over 6 months.
Let us pray for God’s protection upon families. The breakdown of families is on the increase in Kenya and all around the world. Every child deserves to have a family and to be protected. We have no information why this boy’s mother was a street girl and neither do we know why she had been cohabiting with the strange man who used to abuse her, abuse her children and finally set them all on fire.
Psalms 34:17-22(MSG)
Is anyone crying for help? GOD is listening, ready to rescue you. If your heart is broken, you’ll find GOD right there; if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath. Disciples so often get into trouble; still, GOD is there every time. He’s your bodyguard, shielding every bone; not even a finger gets broken. The wicked commit slow suicide; they waste their lives hating the good. GOD pays for each slave’s freedom; no one who runs to him loses out.
