To Our California Family: A personal message from Charles Mulli

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

It is with a heavy heart that I write to you today as we witness the catastrophic wildfires ravaging Los Angeles, California. These fires have continued to burn, making this one of the most destructive wildfire events in Los Angeles history. Multiple fires are raging across metro Los Angeles and surrounding regions, consuming vast amounts of land, displacing countless people, and causing immeasurable loss.

From the news, we have learned of the devastating scale of these fires, which have destroyed homes, businesses, and lives. The financial impact is staggering, and the reconstruction will require significant time and resources. Firefighters are facing severe challenges, including strong winds, low humidity, and persistent dry conditions, which make containment efforts exceedingly difficult. Additionally, they are struggling with equipment shortages and limited water supplies, further complicating their efforts.

Mama Esther and I, as well as the “Largest Family in the World” — MCF, have always been committed to standing in the gap for those in need. Today, we call upon you, our dear friends from around the world, to join us in fervent prayer for all those affected by these fires. Together, let us lift up our voices to God, who is our refuge and strength in times of trouble.

The scriptures remind us that in moments of despair, we find strength in our faith and in each other. As we lift our voices in prayer, let us reflect on His words and draw comfort and hope from the Word of God:

Psalm 46:1-2 [NIV]: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.”

Let us pray that God’s presence will be a source of comfort and strength for those who have lost everything.

Isaiah 41:10 [NIV]: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

May the Lord uphold the firefighters, emergency responders, and leaders who are working tirelessly to save lives and provide relief.

James 5:16 [NIV]: “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

Let us stand in faith, knowing that our prayers can bring hope, healing, and restoration.

Our Prayer Focus:

For the Victims: That God will comfort those who have lost loved ones, homes, businesses, and properties, and provide them with peace and hope in this dark time.

For the Firefighters and Emergency Responders: That they will have strength, courage, and protection as they risk their lives to save others.

For the Leaders: That they will have wisdom and discernment as they coordinate relief efforts and provide for the needs of those affected.

For Nature’s Intervention: That God will send rain to quench the fires and calm winds to prevent further spread and damage.

For the Communities: That the affected communities will come together in unity, compassion, and resilience to rebuild what has been lost.

I invite you, our global family, to dedicate time in prayer for Southern California. Whether individually, as a family, or as a church or a community, let us intercede for those in need. Let us stand together in solidarity with the victims and be a beacon of hope and love.

Let us also remember the words of Galatians 6:2: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

As we pray, let us also consider ways to offer practical support, whether through donations, encouragement, or any other means available to us.

May the Lord bless you abundantly. Let us remain steadfast in faith, knowing that God is with us even in the midst of trials.

With love and prayers,

Prof. Dr. Ev. Charles M. Mulli, PhD HSC
