Trusting God for Healing and Hope

Jeremiah 30:17 (NIV) – “‘But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the LORD.”

David and his sister, Sherine, experienced profound loss at an early age. After their mother abandoned the family following the breakdown of the marriage, their father became their sole provider, leaving them in the care of their paternal grandparents while he sought employment. A skilled mason, he later joined Mully Children’s Family (MCF), where his dedication enabled him to support both his children and his elderly parents.

Tragically, after a short illness, David’s father passed away in September 2024. The loss was devastating, and only a short time later David’s grandfather also passed away, leaving the children in the care of their elderly grandmother. Recognising their vulnerability, MCF welcomed David and Sherine into the family, providing them with a safe, loving, and Christ-centred environment where they could begin to heal and look forward to a brighter future.

David is a quiet, respectful, and thoughtful young boy who has adjusted well to life at MCF. Although naturally reserved, he enjoys reading storybooks and singing in his class choir. He aspires to become a doctor one day so that he can help others.

Recently, David developed swelling in his jaw. Following medical examinations by the MCF healthcare team, he was diagnosed with mandibular cysts, a condition affecting the growth and alignment of his teeth while weakening his jawbone. He is now scheduled to undergo enucleation surgery at a private hospital in Nairobi to remove the cysts and the affected teeth. Alongside his medical treatment, David continues to receive counselling to help strengthen his confidence, restore his self-worth, and support his emotional healing.

Will you join us in lifting David before the Lord as he prepares for this important surgery? Pray that God will guide the hands of every doctor, surgeon, nurse, and healthcare professional involved in his treatment, granting them wisdom, skill, and compassion. Ask the Lord to protect David throughout the procedure, grant him complete healing, and restore him to full health without complications. Pray also that God will strengthen his faith, renew his confidence, and reassure him that he is deeply loved, cherished, and has a bright future in Christ.

We also invite you to pray for Mully Children’s Family, asking the Lord to continue providing every resource needed to care for the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the thousands of children, young people, and co-workers entrusted to us. May He faithfully supply the medical resources, finances, personnel, and facilities required to meet every need, enabling MCF to continue serving as a place of refuge, healing, restoration, and hope for generations to come.
