MCF Lodwar: A Season of Faith and Provision

Isaiah 41:17–18 (NIV) – “The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the Lord will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs.”
We thank God for what He is doing in Lodwar. Set in a desert region marked by drought, famine, and scarcity, MCF Lodwar was raised up to care for vulnerable children and youth through education, discipleship, and the loving presence of Christ in their community. As a quiet sign of His faithfulness, the 750 trees we planted last year are thriving, slowly turning dry ground into shade and greenery.
Our community programme walks alongside more than 800 children, from preschool through Grade 12. During prolonged dry seasons, that number often swells past 1,200 as more children arrive at our gates hungry, weary, and looking for care, a kind word, and a daily meal.
Water remains one of the greatest needs in this land. Our school borehole serves not only our children and co-workers, but also neighbouring nomadic families and their livestock. Even after MCF drilled a second borehole nearby for the wider community, many families still walk to our campus each day for clean water, and we count it a privilege to share what the Lord has given us.
As more children come, our classrooms, desks, learning materials, and sanitation facilities are stretched well beyond capacity. Yet in the middle of that pressure, MCF Lodwar continues to serve in faith, carrying the compassion and love of Christ to each child and family who walks through our gates.

Will you stand with us in prayer for Lodwar? Please pray with us for abundant, clean water for our children, co-workers, and neighbouring families; for the provision of classrooms, desks, learning materials, and sanitation facilities as the numbers grow; for strength, health, and joy for the co-workers serving in this hard and holy place; and for every child who comes hungry, that they would find food, hope, and the love of Jesus at our gates.
