Kenya Elections – Tuesday, August 8th

Please pray that Kenya will be spared from any form of violence or bloodshed as a result of the National Elections. Pray for God’s mighty angels to spread peace throughout the country and that the Nation will be preserved by Christian leadership.

As Kenyans prepare for the National Elections on Tuesday, August 8th, they remember the horrific violence which occurred just 10 years ago. In December following the 2007 elections, Kenya was about to proclaim Mwai Kibaki, the sitting President, as the winner, when his challenger, Raila Odinga claimed the voting had been rigged. Tribal clashes and rioting in the weeks that followed resulted in 1,100 people killed and more than 600,000 Kenyans forced from their homes. It was not until late February of 2008 that an internationally brokered power sharing agreement restored stability to Kenya.

Psalms 4:8 (AMP)
In peace {and with a tranquil heart} I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety and confident trust.
